Creating Job Listings

Everything you need to know about posting opportunities

Getting Started

Creating a job listing is straightforward. Once you're logged in, navigate to your dashboard and click "Create New Listing". You'll be presented with a simple form that guides you through the process.

Your listings are stored in a decentralized way, meaning you retain ownership and control. They can appear not just here, but across any compatible platform in the ecosystem.

Understanding the Fields

Job Title

Keep it clear and searchable. Good titles help candidates quickly understand the role:

  • ✅ "Senior Backend Engineer - Python"
  • ✅ "Marketing Manager - B2B SaaS"
  • ❌ "Rockstar Ninja Needed!!!"
  • ❌ "Various Positions Available"

Description

This is where you tell your story. The description field works just like composing a social media post - you can mention people, add links, and use hashtags. Everything you type is automatically enhanced:

Smart Text Features

  • Mentions: Type @username to mention someone
  • Links: URLs are automatically made clickable
Just paste any link and it becomes interactive
  • Tags: Use #hashtags to categorize your listing
The first 5 tags are indexed for search

About Tags

Tags help people discover your listing. When you include hashtags in your description (like #remote or #engineering), they automatically become searchable tags.

Any hashtag you include will be indexed (up to 5 tags per listing). Choose tags that best describe the role, location, and key requirements.

Application Link

Where should interested candidates go to apply? This could be:

  • Your company's careers page
  • An application form
  • An email link (use mailto:hr@company.com)
  • Any URL where candidates can learn more

Tip: If you leave this blank, candidates will need to find application instructions in your description.

Visibility Dates

Every listing has a lifecycle controlled by two dates:

Start Date (Not Before)

When should your listing become visible? You can create listings in advance and have them automatically appear when you're ready to start accepting applications.

Default: Immediately visible

Expiration Date (Not After)

When should your listing stop appearing in searches? This helps keep the job board fresh and relevant. Expired listings are automatically hidden but remain in your dashboard for reference.

Default: 30 days from creation

Writing Effective Descriptions

Structure Your Content

Break your description into clear sections. Remember, this appears just like a social post, so formatting is limited to line breaks:

Best Practices

  • Be specific: Clear requirements help attract qualified candidates
  • Show personality: Let your company culture shine through
  • Include key details: Location (or remote), salary range if possible, key technologies
  • Use relevant tags: Help the right people find your listing
  • Keep it scannable: Use line breaks to separate sections

After Publishing

Editing Your Listing

You can edit your listing at any time through your dashboard. Changes are reflected immediately across all platforms displaying your listing.

Managing Applications

Applications go directly to the link you provided. We don't handle applications directly - this keeps you in control of your hiring process.

Extending or Removing Listings

Need more time? You can extend the expiration date through the edit page. Found the perfect candidate? You can delete the listing early to stop new views.

Tips for Success

🎯 Target Your Audience

Think about where your ideal candidate spends time online. Mention relevant communities or use tags they follow.

📝 Be Transparent

The more information you provide upfront, the better matched your applicants will be. Include salary ranges, work arrangements, and growth opportunities.

🔄 Keep It Fresh

If your listing expires but the position is still open, create a new one rather than extending indefinitely. Fresh listings get more visibility.
